The Pensions Regulator recently announced that it has issued a large proportion of penalty notices to employers within the food and drink sector, and is asking businesses in the sector to make sure they are aware of how automatic enrolment applies to them, and what must be done to meet your duties and by when.

There has also been a delay in the phasing of auto enrolment pensions. Under the current employer legislation, increases to the minimum contribution rates to defined contribution schemes used for auto-enrolment are due to be phased in on 1 October 2017 and 1 October 2018.
