Hospitality Works is an annual campaign promoting the hospitality sector as a great place to work up and down the country. This year's campaign ran for three weeks, having launched on Valentine's Day (14th February 2019).
The campaign is led by the Department for Work and Pensions, the BBPA, The Springboard Charity and UKHospitality.
Along with the support of national hospitality employers, the campaign is led by the Department for Work and Pensions, The Springboard Charity, UKHospitality and the British Beer and Pub Association, with huge enthusiasm to highlight the great career opportunities available across the sector and alleviate skills shortages.
Hospitality Works is also supported by some of the biggest employers in the industry including Marstons, Ei Group, McDonalds, Hilton and Yo! Sushi. They take part through visiting schools, holding events at job centres and welcoming jobseekers into their businesses for a taste of hospitality and to understand what opportunities are available to them within the sector.
The Hospitality Works campaign has created in excess of 8,000 work placements since its conception in 2015.
If you want to participate as a business/employer, please email hospitality.works@dwp.gsi.gov.uk or follow the #JobsWithASmile hashtag on social media.
As part of the Hospitality Works campaign, DWP have organised two ‘Big Bash Events’. The first event is in Leeds, at Leeds Town Hall, on the 20th of February and the second event is on 8th of March in Manchester, at Old Trafford. Both events are completely free and are opportunities for you to meet with local Jobcentres and your future employees.
